conference
friday 6am.ive been up, getting ready to leave for conference in orlando. i rode with m. one of my dearest friends. i drove the whole time going there. enjoyed our talks, given the more than 2 hour drive going there. we finally got there. at first registration was crazy. very busy but sfc-jax pulled it together. here are the highlights of each day.friday: registration. praise and worship. reggae/latin dance competition. we have several dry-runs of the dance an hour before mass. then after mass we started getting ready.
then came the dance. we felt we did well. our customes were so - sultry for the girls and machismo for the guys. it's just amazing how it happened. we thought we wont get it all together because of the timing and positions.but during the dance, it was just so smooth. well not perfectly smooth, but smooth.=) right after the dance, back to registration booth. with our uber-nice dresses and make-up. now that was hot. heehee!
saturday: registration again. modelled our green shirt with jon, angeline and joe. nice. i was in the discernment workshop most part of the afternoon. being supportive of m, n and james. they were the speakers. they did a great job. then the talks. wow, those were just great. [everything was just great!] cheers! i would have to say that talk about God is Enough made me cry the hardest. there was this part that we reflected, and that we would go to a sister and console/pray over each other. it was taking over me, i was crying so hard. i had to leave the room. i went to the restroom then a sister from norcal came up to me and started praying over me. i thought a sister from jax would, so all the more it was surprising that a sister somewhere else did. i didnt see her face until i stopped crying. she cried with me. i felt her tears trickle down my face. we cried together. after ive calmed down, finally told her my name and talked a little. i asked her if she just happened to be in the restroom when i got there. she said she saw me leave the room and she just wanted to make sure im ok [at least]. she actually followed me. what an angel! finally made my way back to the conference. oh my.. I love you Lord.
then the 100% pure party. dancing, the fashion show and everything that came with it. i did a first-time thing. joe, you're wonderful. =) abi
sunday: mass. the conference was concluded sunday afternoon. we won the latin dance competition - first place! =) more praise and worship!
the conference was just amazing. it felt so liberating. i'm looking forward to next year. Praises, praises! =)
of course, there was an after-party. so sunday, after the conclusion of the conference, we tried to get some rest for some good time later that night. for dinner, we went to [i forgot the name of the place, it was chinese buffet]. so-so place, nothing spectacular. im disappointed with the sushi bar [calling avjv?] would you believe for the sushi "bar", they only had two choices [and not very good ones]. oh well. then after dinner, we went to citywalk. in a nutshell, the longest time we spent at one place was say..10 mins? we were hopping from one club to another. we were trying to get the feel of each club. well, i do like having a good time but i was a little tired so was joe [with his hurting leg] so on the last stop, we decided to just chill outside the club, think that was latin quarter. watched some music videos while waiting. finally went back to the hotel with the whole group. was so tired.
the following day - which was monday was a great day. in another post. ;p
