Hello beautiful ladies of BBW in Great Falls,
My family and I will be on our way driving to Texas by the time you read this. I’d like to be sure I let you know that I am very thankful that I’ve come to know you all. Not only that I’ve enjoyed working alongside each and everyone of you, I gained more friends.
To my Floorset divas, (yes, you are divas, in a good way!) and you know who you are… Thank you for sticking with me through thick and thin, through easy and hard (painful, long) floorsets, through 2 or sometimes 5-hour nights… (maybe even 6? When until midnight). Thank you for being patient with me and getting the job done.
Thank you All… for what you do, not only for the store, but for the team as well. It took each and every one of us to get us where we are now. Know that I am humbled and inspired by your hardwork and commitment to get us to the next level.
I will miss coming to the store (stocking the soap walls, maneuvering thru the backroom when it’s crazy, and dealing with long lines of customers to ring, haha! I could go on with more things I’ll miss). I will miss you all and I will be thinking of you. (Got to love June Sale!)
On a more serious note, I am leaving with a heavy heart but I know I am a much better person, worker and leader because of you all. I hope you learned from me as much as I learned from you. Keep your heads down and keep pushing. Goodluck in all you do and may God bless you and your loved ones. Hope to see you again in this lifetime! If not, have a fabulous life!!! Cheers to the future!
Love,
Abi Devera
Please post until June 13th. Thanks

I think about Trish, almost everyday. How she's given up. I think that maybe she did so things will be easy for Roger and Luca.
I think about Lolo.
I think about Texas.
I think about Joaquin, how fast he's growing and I can't do anything about it. Am I being a good example to him? Am I loving him enough?
I think about Joseph, how long of a life we'll live together.
I think about Hattie, how she believed in me and gave me a break. She's my mentor.
I think about Rob, how he's such a driven person.
Then I think about Lola. How is she doing without Lolo.
I think about Herc, how we are getting old.
I think about the mountains here in Great Falls.
I think about how I just worked worked worked. I haven't even had the chance to see the National Glacier Park. But do I Need to see it?
I think about my Jimmy Choos. I didn't really need all of those.
I think about my future BMW. I'd like it black or reddish. Burgundy would be nice.

Knocked me off my feet
Literally... The wind knocked me off my feet yesterday. After maybe more than 10 years, I scraped my knees.
I picked up Joaquin from the CDC and as when I was going down the sidewalk area, my 4-in heel caught the hem of my wide-leg pants. Thanks to the wind which very successfully was blowing my pants. I guess balancing your weight plus some 25 lbs of your loving child on a very small area such as the sole of your stilettos and that tiny heel wasn't the most ideal scenario on a 45-50mph wind day. It felt it happened really slow. As I knew I was falling, I cupped Joaquin's head with my right hand shielding him from the terrors of the concrete road. And then my delicate knees dropped to the ground and it scraped the thin skin of knees. And take note, both knees. I'm so gald I was wearing my coat or else my elbows would have taken a beating from the road too. I saw my right shoe off my feet standing glorious by itself as I checked if Joaquin hit his head. A gentleman came over and said, "Those winds are really strong, are you ok?" I asked, "I think so." I reached out my hand and he helped me get back on my feet. "Where's your car" he asked. "It's just there." "Ok." "Thank you so much." Then I limped my way to the car, with one shoe on and the other one in my hand.
Joaquin was fine, my shoes were fine. My pants were not, I was not. The friction burned a hole on my lovely pants. I guess I'm letting this pair go.
I've forgotten how it was to fall and get bruises and scrapes on my knees. Surprisingly, I wasn't as devastated as I thought I would be. It was quite nostalgic actually.
It was at school, the bell rang so I had to run to get the line for my class. I tripped over my fellow classmates' bags on the ground. I fell and literally slid on the rough concrete ground. I scraped my elbows and kness - big time. I didn't initially looked at how bad it was. One of my classmates said I should go to the clinic because it's pretty bad. So I did. The nurse said it was bad as I still refused to look at it with my 9-year old pride. I said, "I'm fine, it's far enough from the intestines." She covered it with bandages and I carried on with my day. So I got home, limping. Pealed off the bandages and there it was... really. bad. scrapes. I'm glad the scars faded away gloriously. I felt brave watching them heal.
I hope these new scrapes don't hang around too long. I'm almost 29 years old. I won the battle I had when I was 9.
Bye Trishy
I lost a very dear friend, Trish. Yesterday morning.
She left me a voicemail over the weekend that she found out something about Roger by accident when she went to see Roger's grandma. Never got to call her back right away because I was fighting a flu or something over the weekend. Me and Joseph were both sick. We must have gotten it from Joaquin. I last spoke with her Friday so the voicemail may have been from Saturday or Sunday. I left her vm back yesterday, around noon.
Roger called Joseph last night said Trish committed suicide, around 9/10am. Gunshot in the head. In the bathroom while she was cooking breakfast with her mom. She locked the door and did it. When the mom heard the loud thump on the floor, the family had to kick the door open and found Trish. I heard Luca doesn't know yet. Luca is her younger son, just 3/4 years old.
I still haven't grieved. This is too much. Two deaths in less than 2 months, Lolo on Feb 15 and Trish on Mar 30. Trish and I had big plans once I move to Texas... We were Pier 1/Target/Ross buddies. She taught me frugality can be fabulous. She showed me patience with clearance sections. She inspired more than she knew.
I wish I called her sooner... I luv you too Trishy.

I dreamed of Lolo last night.. finally
I dreamed of Lolo last night, finally...
He seemed so healthy and content and strong. He was not young, he seemed around when he was 70. I was at Lolo and Lola's house visiting. Not even as if I came all the way from the US. It seemed like a typical everyday visit back in the day. I asked for Lolo (knowing he had already passed on) and Lola said he's okay. Then I saw Lolo sitting and I asked him how he is doing. He said great and went on to putting his slippers on. They left his slippers laying on the floor. Then we both walked to the kitchen to have lunch or dinner. Apparently, no one else sees him but the other people in the house knew I was talking to Lolo. Tita Baby (Papa's sister) even said that I am lucky that Lolo's showing himself to me. Lolo and I were just chatting and he told me that he is okay and that I can stop worrying about him.
I think about him a lot, just how he's doing and where he is. That may have been his way of telling me he is Okay. It was good. Thanks Lolo, I needed that.
