1 year later...October 6... what can I say but... Happy Anniversary to us! Can you believe it's been 1 year since we got married? Oh my gosh, craziness I tell you! For the most part, we've been away from each other because of the freakin' military. But despite that, our marriage has been amazing! I'm just glad we're able to spend it together. Praise God for that!
Abi's flight arrived on time, but her baggage got left behind as well as my guitar. By the time we got home, midnight was just around the corner so we decided to do the exchange of gifts early in the morning. Well, when we first got home I gave her a tour of our little house. It was exciting! When we got to the kitchen, she saw the dozen roses and balloon I got for her. She liked it. She was pretty clever in getting me to "accidentally" find my gift. She told me we should take a picture of the flowers, so I went to get the camera. I did, and brought it to the kitchen. I opened it, but at first didn't even think why the bag had extra stuff in it. As I looked into the bag, I saw my gift. She bought me a digital video camera! I definitely wasn't expecting that. I was ecstatic! We immediately used it and recorded some stuff. Oh, it also takes pictures so that's cool. Funny thing is, I've been thinking of buying one. Awesome!
As for her gift, she was blown away! I used my gift to record her reaction. It was great! I gave her the "small" gifts first: the new Justin T. and Beyonce CD. Then, the "big" gift. I first gave her the paper version, which she surprisingly still didn't get right away. But it all clicked soon. If you know about the engagement ring I gave her, then you'll know the quality of this gift. I bought her matching earrings. I know how much she loves the engagement ring, so I figured the matching earrings would get the same kind of admiration. It did. Sure, it set me back financially, but she's worth it. Besides, our 1 year anniversary is a big deal to me. It had to be something extremely special.
The wifey also got me some new clothes, though it wasn't for an anniversary gift. So, I wore the shirt she got me for our dinner. It was a nice restaurant called Dante's. The food was great, the service was great, everything was great! It wasn't really packed or anything, so that was good. It was definitely a great anniversary celebration for the entire 24-hours of October 6, 2006.
1 year down, at least 99 more to go. =)
