Dec 24 -- Half day at the office then I had to work at the store from 3-6pm. We did not finish until almost 7:30. Joseph and I had daing na bangus with fried eggplants with bagoong for our Christmas Eve dinner. Yum! Those talongs were expensive (for talongs). They were $3.46 each at Wal-Mart. So much for the Japanese eggplants. They were the long, skinny ones versus the regular ginormous eggplants. We did buy one of th ebig ones still, I might make it into stuffed eggplant or something. After dinner, we watched Caspian and just lounged at home with Herculesio.

Dec 25 was a little bit more hectic. We served at Mass. I read and he was the lead minister. Joseph looked very handsome in his suit. He finally wore the Express beige pants and suit I bought him back in Nov 2006. He wore the pants to our wedding last year in Oct. Then he had the maroon shirt and tie. My date looked pretty hot. I, on the other hand, wore my Express red short empire dress that I wore to our rehearsal dinner for the wedding last year. That was the only other time I have worn that dress. Oh my, when I was putting it on, Joseph had to help me. The zipper did not even go all the way up, it was soo tight! With the belly and (boobs!). Both of us had to hope and pray it won't snap out while I'm up there at the altar. When I got downstairs to get and put on my shoes, I saw two gifts under the tree - from Hercules! I got so excited I got teary-eyed. Of course I know they're from Joseph but he "collaborated" with Herc. It had to wait until we get home. I survived the Mass without making any scene. Hey, a couple of people made a comment that we looked so good together we better have a picture taken that day -- we did.

When we got home, we took pictures of our Snoopy tree. It is our very first, very humble Christmas tree. It had a little history. Last year when we still lived in Lincoln (also known as our super-cramped humble first home), we (well, maybe more me) was hesitant prettying up the house since I felt the Christmas decors will just clutter it more. We had few decors on different places but no tree at all. A few weeks just before Christmas, we decided to go to Target and finally get a tree. We found this short, maybe 4ft tall cashmere tree on a pot. It was the very last of it's kind so it was the display. We decided to get it. Then one night after I came home from work, I was surprised when there were Snoopy ornaments on our tree! And he did the same this year so our little tree is looking a little bit fuller this year around. We will always have that tree to remind us of our first humble, quiet Christmas together. We only had so much. Anyway.. going back to Christmas 2008, after taking pictures of the small tree, we moved over to the big tree. We opened our gifts from Hercules. And my oh my... we got the bedsheet set. The "luxury" line Target carries. Field Crest I believe. We have the dark chocolate color. It was so pretty and soft, 500 thread count! Joseph is sooo good with surprises.

After the presents, we headed to a friend's house, Tina's. I hung out with the ladies at the kitchen as they cooked. She and her mom gave me some tips. They cooked baked turkey, mashed potatoes, creamed peas. Her mom also made these super simple but nice mini sweet cream cheese rolls. Their family was so warm. Joseph and I were the only guests and everyone else was pretty much family. Tina's husband, Joel, Paul (her son), her parents and brother and his gf. Lunch was great. I also gave Tina the only other Polar Bear cookie jar that came into the store. After Tina's, we went home for a little bit and left for Helen's. She had some friends and her parents were there for Christmas from IL. Dinner was good too, good company. We watched a movie titled Elf (finally). Helen has been talking to me about it for almost 2 years and I finally got to watch it. A couple of the guests, Stephanie and Marcus sang for us. We left around 10:30 that night since Joseph had to be at work at 6:30 the following morning. (yes, 6:30).

We went home, spent a little time with Hercules and went to bed. Christmas Day felt like a full day. I didn't get to talk to the family since the phone connection won't work. I think I was able to talk to them the following day, the 26th.

The 26th, I worked the floorset for the start of the Semi-Annual Sale. It went from 6pm-12am. Didn't leave until 1ish. I can't remember fully but when Joseph picked me up, I was upset and crying on the drive home. Not with Joseph but with floorset. Oh well.. it went okay I guess for the most part. We slept really late (or early) when we got home. Joseph made me feel better when we got home. I ate and even Herc was just lounging beside me. He may have felt I was upset too. It was really good to have Joseph, to have somebody to go home to who loves you and cares for you.

Happy Birthday Jesus. We love you always. Thanks for loving us too.
