back trouble

my back started hurting again since the day before yesterday [so that was saturday]. so my dear sisters started massaging my back and put on lots of bengay. we'll im feeling a little better now. saturday night, stayed at home and slept pretty ealy. sunday morning, i heard morning mass then breakfast with parentals at mcdo. we stayed there from like 9.30 to noon. just talking. after that, went straight home and rested my complicated back again. almost 7 last night, my staying at home paid off big time! hubby called. =) talked for less than half an hour definitely. it's always good hearing his voice. we talked about the movie that i watched with the parentals. then i mentioned the time when ravvy was kidnapped. he asked me not to start telling the story since he cant stay on the phone much longer. but it was really a good conversation we had i told him, he's been away so long im starting to get sick. oh well..

then this morning, i got another letter from him. nice way to start the day. 3 more nights. =)

thanks Hollister!

Thank you

the email from hubby made my day last thanksgiving but there was more! just before leaving for thanksgiving dinner at ninang's house, the house phone rang at base 2 [parents' house]. it was joseph! =) i got to talk to him a little more than an hour in total. an email+phone call=biggest thanks since he left! he got to talk with mom and dad then to me. few more days, i'll see him.

so, the thanksgiving dinner was great. i did a toast to life, family and friendship and of course to my one and only... all the biggest thanks to the Big Boss up there. ;p my first thanksgiving and i didnt even touch the turkey. hmmm. too many side dishes. i love my ninang! a coat for a gift as well. thanks ninang!

the following day [thanksgiving sale craze] started around 5am. i was up by 5, then parents picked me up. we [parentals+close family friends] went to the exchange to buy some stuff [i didnt find anything interesting], they did buy some. then off to georgia [yep, you read it right georgia] - just to shop. i felt my butt hurting because of the drive [although i should be used to it due to frequent drives to orlando] anyway, shopping was great. got some very nice goodies. got hubby something for his graduation. all that hard work. =) im excited to give it to him. after shopping at the strip mall and lunch at ruby tuesdays, then the [this time less hurting] drive going home. we had a dinner date with another close family friend couple at pf changs. so much food. i thought i was still full from the thanksgiving dinner! nice food surrounded by nice people and of course, how can i not mention the tea.

after dinner, i treated parentals to a movie. they said it was almost a year ago they last saw a movie in a theater. RENT!!!! =) omg! you got to see it. something fresh and real. two thumbs up, hats off! =) im just so happy i got to see it. i mean, i sooo wanted to see it even if i'll be alone [although i'v never done that before and not planning to]. it was very well made, i hope they'd be more movies like that and enough of the wedding movies [there's an obvious overflow of wedding/meet-the-parents kind of movies]. kudos to rent! only downfall, hubby is still in texas. hopefully he'll get to see it soon. we were waiting for this, at least i watched it for us. ;p watching it made me miss you more baby, i'll watch it with you, promise. my favorite character would be angel, then mimi. just can't help but praise it. ok, enough, i know you get the idea. just one more time, i love rent!

so, that pretty much was my thanksgiving period. my first thanksgiving with so many things to thank for particulary:
  • for the gift of life and its mysteries - change is always for the better - even if it hurts sometimes...
  • for the gift of family and friends - accepting nobody's perfect and loving each other anyway
  • for the gift of strength, faith and hope - to help us carry on
  • for the gift of love and commitment - through Joseph, my husband. I love you so very much.
who would have known... God has always had His Way, oftentimes we should just have to listen and trust. Cheers everyone! =)

Happy Thanksgiving!

OLA! let me make it up for you. First of all, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you all! It has been a great year for me, for him and for you all I know. It is actually my first Thanksgiving here, so today and the coming celebrations would be pretty new to me, but oh well, sounds fun. Just earlier, we had a Thanksgiving dinner at Anne and Bel's. A lot of fellow Sfcs celebrated with us and that was a good thing. I finally got to bring the long-overdue Dove ice-cream. A little after dinner, I distributed post-its to have people write something for Joe's graduation. I hope I'll see you [yes you dear] soon so I can include your message when I see him. Joe's graduating on Dec. 2! Yahoo! Finally! Bootcamp is over! =) so happy!! With that said, I'll be flying to Texas on Dec. 1 with the parentals for his graduation. Yep, Joe's graduating, at least earlier that expected. Yay! =)

We have an ongoing CLP [anyone interested to join?]. It is always great serving. I hope I'll have more opportunity to serve in the coming years. Second day of the CLP, I had my acting debut [as they fondly called it]. Phew, got through it. It was a good cast anyway, had my inspirations. ;p Had dinner at Mimi's Cafe Sunday night then watched Walk the Line with fellow Sfc. Mimi's Cafe was good, Italian, nice place, good food [the chicken sesame salad was good!] but the movie was pretty dope. I dont think a lot of us went crazy about it. It was a typical rock-star life story. so-so. I guess since Joe left I only saw 2 movies in the theater, The Legend of Zorro and Walk the Line. I definitely have to see Rent before I fly to Texas! Still looking for a beagle or a jack russell.

Finally received letters! =) 2 letters and a postcard in all! Thank you baby, definitely made me happy! In a nutshell, he said he is doing ok and that he's holding up pretty good. Prayer time was reduced significantly [poor baby!] but he still gets to hear mass on Sundays and they say a prayer as a group every night [that's a good thing]. He said food there was pretty good, three square meals each day if I remember it right. He lost weight! He said he misses us all and that we should all continue to pray for him as he prays for us as well. Please continue to include Joe in your prayers. By the way, I had my longest conversation with him last Saturday for just a little more than 10 minutes. That was a lot! Made me so happy! =) That's probably the last call I'll get until I see him for his graduation.

I can't wait to see hubby. Phew, I'm so glad bootcamp's over. I am thankful - so thankful for the gift of family and friends, without them, it would have been harder to watch the days pass while he's away. Thank you to you all,you know who you all are. Love you all. Pretty soon, I'll get to eat Wendy's. That also means then I'll have someone to hold and cuddle with again. I miss him terribly and can't wait to be with him again. There's a lot more in store for us now, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Joe's graduating! Yay! I'm so proud of you hubby! You've always been wonderful. I love you so much and can't wait to see you. Soon, very soon.. =)

i went out with the parentals today after 6 days [a record breaker]. went to the avenues. not much gallavanting. attended a household meeting afterwards. talked about some scary stuff which made me a little scared to drive home alone. i ended up staying the night at stef's with jema and cathy. instead of going to the fair, we watched two movies instead. went home past 9 the next day.

someone else's engagement

2:53 am, still can't sleep. i was watching this celebreality show titled my fair brady. a love story between a 47 year-old rich bachelor and a 22 year-young model [think she's brazilian]. anyway, in a nutshell, as a bachelor, an established one take note, he's not attractive though [but better than trump], can't commit as much as adriana is expecting from him [marriage]. i found myself watching the conclusion of the tv show. fast forward, they were thinking of splitting-up, but the guy realized things, proposed to the girl realizing that he'll be needing the prawning in his life. girl's make-up was still in place even with all the crying. they will be spending their lives together.

it just got me thinking if that was adriana's dream proposal. chris bought adriana an apartment should she decide to move out of his place and spread her wings. it broke adriana's heart since it meant that chris can't commit. options are, she'll take the apartment or come home with him as his fiance. he took out the box from his pocket and showed adriana the ring. she cried big time. it felt familiar and different at the same time. familiar in the sense of having the one you love kneel before you and ask you to spend your lives together and different when it got me thinking, what if that was how my husband proposed to me, would have i cried too? i meant, they were alone in the apartment and chris took out the box, didnt take out the ring right away and was taking so long to kneel [well, not too long] i didnt when hubby did, but it was one of the best moments in my life. i didnt like the ring chris got adriana. i wondered if adriana liked it. it was a marque cut [the sharp oblong], with stones on the sides in yellow gold. first of all, i dont like marque, to favor solitaires for engagement rings and please.. no yellow gold. Joseph got me a platinum, a solitaire ring and the priciest stone.

well, im not sure why i actually care. it was my dream proposal, and dream ring. and im married to a great man. good luck to chris and adriana. i hope it is really their reality and not just for the camera. by the way, it's chris from the brady bunch and adrianne is the 1st ever crowned america's next top model. i think i better sleep instead. morning peeps!

healthier day

my wednesday was composed of refreshingly nice things:
  • a good morning wake-up
  • good lunch
  • watching a great movie [cried so hard]
  • adoration [feels good!]
    • i went to Assumption. did adoration, said my prayers. i miss joseph so much. i didnt get our "spot" this time. it was occupied. i got our "other spot" instead.
  • no hurries
    • i had time to do chores around the house.
  • good food, warm mocha, great convo with good friends.
    • talk about quality time, finally. ;p n&b

I'm going to stick with you baby

I don't want to go another day

So I'm telling you exactly what is on my mind
Seems like everybody is breaking up
Throwing their love away
I know I got a good thing right here
That's why I say (Hey)

Nobody's going to love me better
I'm going to stick with you
Forever
Nobody's going to take me higher
I'm going to stick with you
You know how to appreciate me
I'm going to stick with you
My baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way
I'm going to stick with you

I don't want to go another
So I'm telling you exactly what is on my mind
See the way we ride
In our private lives
Ain't nobody getting in between
I want you to know that you're the only one for me
And I say

Nobody's going to love me better
I'm going to stick with you
Forever
Nobody's going to take me higher
I'm going to stick with you
You know how to appreciate me
I'm going to stick with you
My baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way
I'm going to stick with you

And now
Ain't nothing else I can need
And now
I'm singing 'cause you're so, so into me
I got you
We'll be making love endlessly
I'm with you
Baby, you're with me

So don't you worry about
People hanging around
They ain't bringing us down
I know you and you know me
And that's all that counts
So don't you worry about
People hanging around
They ain't bringing us down
I know you and you know me
And that's why I say

Nobody's going to love me better
I'm going to stick with you
Forever
Nobody's going to take me higher
I'm going to stick with you
You know how to appreciate me
I'm going to stick with you
My baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way
I'm going to stick with you

Nobody's going to love me better
I'm going to stick with you
Forever
Nobody's going to take me higher
I'm going to stick with you
You know how to appreciate me
I'm going to stick with you
My baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way
I'm going to stick with you

PICTURE SHOWER: for no particular reason

that's what joe called my halloween picture. he says because of the sunglasses. those are his by the way.. in his room, taken the day before he was leaving. i was playing it cool.

edit:

What Dreams May Come

It seemed just like a year or two ago i last saw this movie. then i realized, it was all the way back in 1998. this is one of the best movies, visually refreshing and undoubtedly an original. great movie, although i would have to say this is not meant for the impatient to understand what's going on in the movie. really good!
the power of love, hayyyy. to heaven, hell and back..

later on, i watched elizabethtown with stef, jon and jems. great time, although we all agreed the movie was a pretty slow. i liked the script though. thumbs up for the script, storyline was ok but the screenplay was slow. oh well.. but i think the map was really cute and sweet, and i liked the blues music. joe has been wanting to see this movie, i watched it for you baby! 2 movies since hubby left, still no wendy's. several more weeks! =)

another great day

mass in the morning with soul sister then arby's for lunch. i went to st. john's to be at the cluster teaching. it was amazing! it really brought me to a higher level of awareness about many things, the community, faith, the Eucharist and even myself, of how I am being a Catholic. it was a blessing having Father as our speaker. he spoke with such passion. Praise God!

by the way, that's maria. such a sweetheart. she's 6months young. so small and fragile. i find myself more drawn to the babies than to the toddlers. and look at those eyes.

maria made me miss my brother, who at 1 month old, and i was 9, i was taking care of him. and i know i spoiled that kid. then an auntie started talking to me about babies, like when you give birth, then feeding and all that. oh well, in time. anyway, anyway, going back to the reality of not having kids yet, after the teaching [which joseph still hasn't called yet, been waiting all day], we went to biscotti's to celebrate cathy's birthday tomorrow. happy birthday cathy! wish you more love and joy!! rode with jon, stef, jems and cathy in the "fridge" car. the ride was fun, and i think i talked a lot. my gosh! dinner was great [roasted salmon salad] + cheesecake with my dessert partner, stef! oh by the way, joseph did call!! he was having the hardest time calling me because of the signal. finally found a way. waited for his call outside, was listening to the voicemail and getting hopeless thinking i totally missed the call, after a few i-should-haves with my sister, he did call!! yehey! =) he says HI to everyone. he's doing alright, nothing to worry but he told dad bootcamp sucks. oh well. then he greeted 1st month anniversary. =) going home, i think i talked a lot again, nice conversations during the rides and during dinner - always when you're with friends. since we were talking about scary stuff over dinner [well, half of the group], i got just a little iffy driving home with ravvy. so, stef, jon and jems trailed me. well, im just a girl. thanks guys!

1st month anniversary! would you believe we've been married for a month now.. wow, and he was the one who remembered. love you too baby! =)

it was a Great day! things to celebrate, people to celebrate with! good things do happen! peace everyone. =)

soar higher blue angels!

saturday started early. i went to hear mass with the parents. then grabbed quick breakfast at mcdo. you know what,i'm eating less these past few days. for breakfast, i just had milk and 2 hashbrowns- and lots of heinz ketchup, plus hints of hot sauce. [ok, enough description]. then we went to ponte vedra, drove around and checked some places in that side of town. 32082. went home eventually because mom has got to go to work. later on, around 3, i was with dad at jax beach to watch the blue angels. they're great! i enjoyed the show, i think pretty much because i've been exposed to planes and jets because of my dad's business. i really wished my dad and my brother pido was there with me. i'll just send them copies of the pcitures i took. we walked around and ran into some family friends. chit chatted and some snacks. went home afterwards. i missed my friends [dinner and beach] sayang!!! oh well, i was home pretty early, 8.30ish. [that's early] slept early too, at least earlier than 2am, oh and by the way, i was too lazy to have dinner. got some good sleep. sunday tomorrow, hubby might call!! =)

not ravvy!

i know your forehead might have wrinkled already but.. i want to tell you what happened before and after that. so i woke up really early today. i went with the parentals to the carmelite monastery for the first friday mass. [i slept 2am this morning]. coffee and cake followed the mass. we went to st. augustine outlets because mom wanted to check up on some stuff. for luch,we went to ruby tuesdays. it seems like i've been eating brocolli for 3 consecutive days now. didnt finish my meal again. after lunch, to burn the piling carbs from cheeses and breads, we went around the avenue's mall. i saw several nice shoes i included in my wishlist [christmas bells..] i chitchated with some jewelry sales people, talked about my venus and potential wedding ring designs. i love the vintage looks! so we left the mall them went to jax beach to watch the sea and sky spectacular [the air show]. we parked at mcdo and went to the beach to watch the hovercraft and the jets. the beach was nice, i think i should spend more time there. then we moved to the theater area to watch the silent march[?] of the marine corps. it was nice, impressive. made me think if joseph would do the same fancy riffle show. so, we when we were done with the show, we were heading towards the parking. then mom, said "look!" then we saw ravvy on top of a truck being kidnapped! i literally ran [would you believe? i would have never done that in manila] to catch the towing truck but the driver got his go signal from the cop. i lost the truck plus ravvy. we didnt realize, that only mcdo cutomers can stay there for so long. well, we were customers, we bought drink/s but left for the show. oh well, so much for perfect timing. we talked with the mcdo manager and found out there was a handful of cars towed. i realized my purse was there and other stuff. actually i was more worried if ravvy was hurt due to any scratch when they pulled him out of the parking lot. we called the towing company and told them that we'll be picking ravvy. when we saw that another car was being towed, we had the idea of instead of waiting for my sister to come to our rescue, they can just ride the truck to go the place -which they did [the parents], and poor me was left at mcdo. mom and dad eventually got ravvy back. we were all calm about the whole thing - laughing actually, making fun of the whole running thing that i did. imagine waving to the driver and be totally ignored. i wonder if anyone i knew saw me. now, mcdo has another whole new memory attached to it. to relieve the stress, mom had to do some therapeutic shopping and i needed to see some animals. felt better after we left petco. dinner was at panera. that bagel was heavy, i think because of the serious cream cheese too.

it was a really long day, more than 13 hours of being out. i want a dog, been wanting one for awhile now. i wonder what joe would say when he finds out about ravvy. oh well. ravvy will be driving me home later. ravvy's safe now, no scratch. no need to worry.. =)
by the way, i thought about this a few days ago, what's your take about donald trump and melania knauss? you think they're gonna have kids? speaking of kids, i saw these ultra-cute baby socks at tommy earlier at st. augustine. they're adorable! mom kept asking me if im getting jealous of couples with babies.. in time... i cant wait for the movie Rent!!

assumption and married

most important thing today: adoration at assumption. i am really happy to have gone adoration tonight at assumption. the last time i was there was during our wedding day, morning of our wedding day. happy but a little sad at the same time, it made me miss joseph more. i took the very same spots we had when we were doing our week-long daily adoration before our wedding. feels healthier now. =) the last time i was there, i was abigail obrero, when i stepped in earlier, i'm already a wife [mrs. abigail devera]. i love you joseph.
rewind: i went out with charlotte for lunch at charley's. first time, not bad, but at the same time, nothing fabulous. then just checked out some stuff at different places. we went to regency [again]. then went home. i just watched tv until i had to leave for assumption for a teaching. i left an hour earlier so i can go to adoration before the talk - which i did. =) [really happy about it, missed it so much]. the talk was about the importance of the Eucharist and how to get more out of it. the speaker deserved the standing ovation. he did great in explaining things and clear its relevance to everyday life and being a devout Catholic. i'm glad i made it. only downfall, i was on solo flight. i didnt get to see any fellow sfc earlier, well, some cfc but i didnt sit with them. but then again, it was all good. nourishement for the faith - and spirit.
after the talk, went home with ravvy. i readied for spending the night at base 2 [which where i am right now]. mom called mama in manila, chatted and what not. my family saw just some of the weddings pictures, the ones an auntie of ours brought with her when she went home to manila. all good. that's pretty much it about today. need to sleep soon, need to wake up early tomorrow for mass. catch you later.

solo flight no. ____

As soon as I woke up, I'm so thankful for good friends. The seriously good ones. Lessons learned from the previous post should be taken by the heart, not easy though. But will help you survive at least - from the cruel intentions of the world. [that's deep.. ehem]

Anyway, not too long after I found out I was home alone, I decided to go to Regency Mall earlier today and visited Chum. She's our jewelry friend. I finally had the chance to show her the engagement and wedding pictures that has been long overdue. She thought those were really nice. Too bad Elena wasn't there. After some chit-chat with Chum, I headed to Dillard's just to look around. Then I went to St. John's Town Center not too long after. I checked out Staples. By the way, I was with ravvy. Anyway, at Staples, I think there were just 3 customers there including myself. I went through every aisle, to kill, something you can also do at Walmart or Target. Since I pretty much saw what Staples had to offer, I decided to go eat. Leaving the Town Center, I was thinking if I'll go to Denny's, Village Inn or [light bulb over the head] Sweet Tomatoes [I was missing the Chicken Asiago Salad -if I got that right]. I eventually found myself driving to Sweet Tomatoes. Just as I was paying at the cashier, someone was calling my name. I turned, it was our Ninang Minda and Ninong from the wedding. Sweet. They were asking who I was with, and I told them I was on solo flight. Sat with them, good to have company. We had a good conversation. After dinner, we convoyed going home. But before I headed home,I passed by at the parents' house. I visited parents and grabbed few dvds from Joe's collection that I could watch for the night. I got Chasing Pappi, My First Romance, Last Breath [i think that was the title] and What Dreams May Come [this is a keeper]. I watched the first two. Hmm, almost a movie marathon but I stopped at two. Oh well. a little drama later that night. Thank God for voice mails. =)

Question: Would you rather be the past or the future?

because of cruel intentions

today seemed to be an ordinary day. i've been pretty productive, did laundry, cleaned around the house and ran some errands. watched cruel intentions. then it came to my realization that yes, some people in this pathetic world can be promiscuous, deceitful and manipulative. then there is still one thing that conquers it all - [might sound redundant and cheesy] but yes, love. love brings you to a whole new level of awareness of what is right and wrong. the satisfaction in someone else's misery seems to be easily diluted by the sincerity of someone else's heart. Thank God for true love. a love that is sincere, forgiving, honest and strong.

i feel sorry for some people who never had any greater reason to become better people. they continue to be consumed by their own selves and sink in the perpetual absence of being happy with the people and blessings they have. so sorry.

lessons of the day:
  • forgive the past, embrace the present, pray for the future
  • humans will always be human. composed of pride, humility, hurt, joy, love and pain.
  • believe what you want.
  • learn to heal your own wounds.
